Dave Mattacks, born David James Mattacks on March 13, 1948 in Edgware, Middlesex, England, is an English rock and folk drummer, best known for his drumming with Fairport Convention (1969-1972, 1973-1975, 1985-1997).
Mattacks continues to work as a session musician as well as a solo performance artist. In addition to playing the drums, Mattacks is an accomplished piano / keyboard player (he was a piano-tuner apprentice before taking up the drums) and is known to play bass guitar on studio recordings from time to time.
