This video interview with Garry Peterson was recorded on May 20th, 2009, during the JNDC (Joyful Noise Drum Company) Day at Fork's Drum Closet.
Canadian drummer, Garry Peterson, born on May 26, 1945 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, began playing the drums at the age of three. He has been a long-term member of the Canadian rock band, The Guess Who, recording such hits as "These Eyes", "Laughing", and "American Woman". The band broke up in 1975, but following a reunion tour in 1983, Peterson rejoined the band, which bassist, Jim Kale, has been leading since 1987.
Peterson and Kale are the only original members of The Guess Who left. Rounding out The Guess Who's current line-up, since 1990, are guitarist Dale Russell, keyboardist Leonard Shaw, and lead singer/guitarist Terry Hatty.
Along with Randy Bachman, Peterson also recorded and toured with another Canadian rock band, Bachman-Turner Overdrive (BTO).
Garry Peterson currently resides in Greensboro, North Carolina.
