Andy Ziker

Andy Ziker, born November 18, 1967, is an American drummer, percussionist, author and educator, best known for his ever-growing list of unique drum method books, including Drumcraft: A Beginner's Guide to The Drum Kit, Drum Aerobics, Daily Drum Warm-Ups - 365 Exercises To Develop Your Technique, Drumset for Preschoolers and The Jazz Waltz, and inventing two types of music stands for drummers and percussionists made by the Manhasset Specialty Company: the Drummer Stand 53D and the Drummer Stand for the Hi-Hat 53DH.

Ziker holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts - Music and a Masters of Education - Elementary Education, both from Arizona State University, and has studied privately with the likes of Billy “Stix” Nicks, Don Bothwell, Chris Armstrong, Mark Austill, Rob Schuh, Dom Moio, John Pennington, Grant Wolf, Chuck Marohnic, Jeff Hamilton, Colin Bailey, Dom Famularo and John Riley.

Over the years, Andy Ziker has published a number of drum-related articles in Modern Drummer Magazine, DRUM! Magazine, and several online drumming websites including OnlineDrummer and Drummer Cafe.

After moving to San Jose, CA at the beginning of 2014, Ziker was the Associate Editor of DRUM! Magazine (January to May 2014), teaches drums at The Rhythm Academy of San Jose, and continues to work as a free-lance musician while performing with a number of different artists and groups.
