BIOGRAPHY

Dave Clark, born David Clark on December 15, 1942 in Tottenham (North London), England, is an English musician, songwriter and record producer, best known as the leader and drummer of the 1960s beat group, The Dave Clark Five — the first big British Invasion band to follow The Beatles to America in 1964.
Dave Clark had a distinctive sound to his drums with a signature drum intro that began with with a measure of straight sixteenth-notes (or eighth-note triplets) on the snare drum, followed by a measure of unison eighth-notes on the snare and floor tom.
The Dave Clark Five is one of the few British bands of the day that never replaced their drummer.
