Mark Poiesz

Originally from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, drummer Mark Poiesz began his professional music career at the age of 14. After high school, scholarship opportunities led him to the University of Miami, where he earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Studio Music and Jazz Drum Set in 2007. During his four years at UM, Mark participated in several Downbeat award-winning ensembles and had the honor of performing with the Grammy nominated Concert Jazz Band during his final year.

Over the past six years, Mark has performed on over 50 albums, recording and touring alongside some of rock music's biggest names, such as Ghost of Gloria (EMI Publishing). During this time he has also established himself as a top call for artists such as pop icon, Jon Secada, and country music star, Chuck Wicks.

Currently based in Nashville, TN, Mark creates music in the studio and on the road with an ever growing list of artists, including Jon Secada, Chuck Wicks, Ghost of Gloria, Betty Wright, Slide Hampton, Jim Belushi, Lita Ford, Micki Free, Ed Calle, and Tamyra Grey. Having worked with such producers as Espionage, Don Gilmore, Rob Graves, Ken Lewis, Matt Laplant, Pete Wallace, Danny Morris, Tim Smith, Hal Batt, and Gary Vandy, Mark's session credits include recordings with Ghost of Gloria, Kylie Odetta, Samantha Natalie, Hugo, Breakers Broken, Wait For Green, Stained Angel, Travis James, The Mission Veo, Deathstars, Rebel Angel, The Raven, Jacin Nagao, Jesse Ponnock, Leading The Heroes, Josh Bassett, Rory Uphold, Xylitone, Nicole Hatton, Penelope Sky, Caution Automatic, Raine, Nil Cardoso, Keith Dudley and many more.
