Earlier today, we dropped off my 18 year old daughter for her first professional gig.
We brought her to an airport in NY, where she took a plane to Orlanda, FLA.

She starts a week of rehearsals there tomorrow morning, and then embarks on an 8 month tour of the U.S. dancing in a show.

This was our first experience with a child leaving.
[Warning parents of children who will leave in the future: It does not feel good At All.  :)  ]

On the positive side, this will be an amazing life experience for her.  This morning I heard that her itinerary states she'll be on the Today Show in a few weeks.

Congrats and good luck to your daughter. Now for the parents. I won't say don't worry, because you will just the same. Just stay as cool as you can and remember what she has learned as she was growing up. Best of luck all around. She will make you and her self proud in the end.
