Congratulations on your first car!  And, good luck with the stalling issue.  Late 80's Nissan's are usually bulletproof, so hopefully your bad gas theory is the extent of the issue.

Ahh, I remember my first car like it was yesterday... a 1965 (22 years old at the time) Chevy Biscayne that was purchased for $350.  It was a 4-door cruising vessel that could break traction almost at will!!!   ;D

Set fittage is vital... find a way to make that work!

Just don't give up drumming as you take up driving. I lost my passion for BMX when it no longer also served as my only form of transport.

I gave up BMX for driving as well. Im a drum lover, my first love. and my last. idk what i just meant buy that.

Good luck with your first car. It seems to be slot better than my first one. A broken down 1952 Chevy. However it did the important things in life. Got me from point A. to point B. and back again. Didn't look good or rin all that great, but it didn't give up moving between those points. A. & B. are very important.

Mine was a '58 Rambler American. Flat head 6 cyl, 3 on the column, and ran like a sewing machine. I paid $85 for it and never had the first problem with it. Even had new seat covers and a paint job.

Good luck with your first car - and drive careful!

89 Nissan Sentra

I had an '89 Sentra. Gave it to my stepdaughter a couple years ago ...it's still running.

My first car was a '69 Mercury Marquis with a 429 4-barrel. My DAD picked it out for me. I dunno what he was thinking - that was the fastest car I've ever owned.

My first car was a 1993 escort. My baby i had it for 6 months and then i wrote it off! (not on purpose) depending on if you talk to me or the police depends on how i crashed! the police say "you have bald tires of course you skidded" i say "the brakes failed cos i didnt slow down as i reach the T-junction at 50MPH, and then i hit ice and skidded"
Main thing is, keep your car in good working order, especially if your lugging your kit in it, the last thing you want to do is have an accident and have to leave your kit in the car until you pay to have it released from the car pound (that happens in UK anyway)!!!!!!!

but yeah congrats, im sure you will be fine! not like me!!! i was silly!

all you need now is a nice stereo system in it! :)

My first car, not counting the familly minivan, was a '65 Chevy Corvair.  Newer design than the "unsafe at any speed" model, but still kind of scary to drive (for my Mom anyway, I was 18--I wasn't scared).  Be glad you have a *fairly* safe car.  If it was decently maintained, a Nissan should last awhile.  Just hope you can fit your drums.  You may have to get creative fitting them all--I know I did for my Corvair.

Mine was a 1970 Ford Maverick, 3-on-the-tree, I paid $300. I learned to drive a stick the day I bought it and had to be at work. It had a sticker on the side that said "The Roach" and people all over town would yell "Roach!" when they saw it. It held the drums, barely. I started dating a girl from the more well-to-do side of town and she refused to ride in it.
