I would first recommend that you go and try out as many kick drum pedals as you can. As you are looking, do the following:
  • Decide your budget and how much money you are willing to spend.
  • Figure out which features are a must have for you.
  • Decide whether you want chain or strap. If chain, do you like the single or double chain? Etc.
  • Investigate which pedals have the easiest access to new parts. If your pedal breaks or needs a new part, you want to be sure that you can find the new part easily ... such as ordering over the phone/online or picking it up at your local music store.
  • Read some reviews on the pedals that you like the most.
I did all of this a number of years ago and felt that the DW 5002AH Delta Accelerator would work best for me. It's a double pedal, which I use ocassionally, and is very smooth and quiet ... perfect for studio & live work. I've been very pleased with this pedal and it has held up well over the years.

DW parts are very easy to find and acquire since they are manufactured here in the USA.

There's a lot of variables, so read up on it before you try them out!
