Hey guys...I know I rarely contribute as a member here and I apologize, and more so for dumping more youtube bandwidth here, but I thought I'd shamelessly post a couple video clips from a concert I worked this week.

This was a performance billed under the pianist's name.  We were playing his compositions.  The first clip is just a vamp/harmonic figure he gave us before the gig to improvise on.  Still just a simple 32 bar thing. So, we do take a few liberties.
Second (and third) clip...part one and two...are of a tune that the pianist composed for a friend who passed away.
Anyway, we had some fun.

"X-Set" (a last-minute improvised piece):

"Yours Truly" Part 1 :

"Yours Truly" Part 2 :

Thanks for watching!  :)

p.s. if you're really geeky, you can go to the youtube page for each video and click the "watch in high quality" link and watch it without so much compression.

RhythmStop

I've had some free time this year, and just started back up playing.
Here's one thing I made:
http://www.rhythmstop.com/sounds/poowebclip.mp3

I basically have been soloing to a click, finding some ideas that I like, then run with them and sort of arrange them and then I put weird ambient sounds over them.

The other things I did, which were much less rhythmically boring, but will make South Park fans really are these:

And Towelie:

I had a lot of fun making them, and it can be a little humbling to hear yourself play fills badly that you thought you could play well.  :)

Desert Drummer

Alright everyone, I'm new here.

Go to www.myspace.com/carlossolorzano and hear the sound of the Desert Drummer

I write drumming compositions based on world rhythms and drumset solos that are also based on world rhythms.

Both types of samples are on my MS page.

EDIT: Since I yanked my copyright-infringing drumming videos off YouTube, I presently have no video of myself playing. So, instead of leaving dead links in this thread I offer you a video that explores my idyllic childhood.

eml, thanks!  That's a 60's Gretsch COB 4160 5x14 snare.  Probably my favorite snare ever.

Chad! It's amazing to see you here, too. I can't wait for your Speedking to break through the border and end up at my home...  ;D

to all that don't know, Chad's a seriously great player.

Awesome tunes! Come to Michigan!

Here's a soundfile of my band,  http://www.myspace.com/nearmissmallet]Near Miss Mallet , during rehearsal.  I thought the sound quality came out pretty well, especially considering it's recorded on cheap gear and in the living room of the bandleader's house.
