Yes.  Unless he doesn't use it.

To elaborate guerillawar - pressure and vibration (i.e., using his foot and leg on the hi-hat or bass drum) will interfere with the healing process and prevent your friend's leg from getting better. It's a medical no-brainer.

Bottom line...off the foot 'til it heals.

The doc is probably right, but I broke my wrist a few years ago and played right thru the entire injury.  Ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Needless to say, as much as I love them, I don't ride dirt bikes anymore!

guerrillawar

yeah i played through four broken arms, but this guy is.... insane!?!?!

TAMApete03

yeah, i broke my left hand bone a few years back, and the dr. told me that i would never play drums again. oh yeah?? now look at me!! lol. i'm still going strong! good ol' percocets worked for me!!

TAMApete03

i was only on them for about a week doc!! you make me sound like a drug addict!! lol.

Tamapete,
Sorry - rather than to make you sound like a drug addict I was
only trying to provide some education in case someone else on the board thinks that taking percocet for more than a week will keep them playing.
Nothing personal.
