Classic Drummer MagazineAfter an eleven year run, Billy Jeansonne, owner, editor and publisher of Classic Drummer, announced today that he plans to complete the publishing of the magazine for 2012, then permanently cease all future printings. The current Doane Perry cover issue (#38) is being printed and will be distributed to all subscribers within the next few weeks, within the month of August. One final issue (#39), the cover is TBA, will be printed ASAP, officially making it the last printed issue of Classic Drummer magazine.

From Billy Jeansonne and Classic Drummer Magazine:

This decision has been a very difficult one to make and a lot of thought and discussion has gone into this decision.

It has been an honor and a pleasure for you to allow all of us at Classic Drummer to bring our magazine into your homes for eleven years. It has been an honorable experience for me to personally get to know many of the readers, the artists, and the industry personnel.

My sincerest apologies to all of you for the tardiness of the last several issues of Classic Drummer. Only good intention was meant to all of you to try to keep Classic Drummer going in print form.

As mentioned, all subscribers will be receiving the current Doane Perry issue plus one more final issue of Classic Drummer. Remaining subscriptions will be fulfilled by DRUM! magazine, beginning immediately. You will still receive two issues of Classic Drummer plus two copies of DRUM! magazine for every issue of Classic Drummer magazine owed to your subscription.

More details will be announced next week about the online and digital media of Classic Drummer.

Thanks very much to all of you!
