Grateful Dead 50 - Chicago

The Grateful Dead had no idea that when they walked off stage at Soldier Field on July 9, 1995, the band's musical journey would end that night. Now, almost exactly twenty years to the day, Grateful Dead will returning to Chicago to the same venue they last played at twenty years ago to offer a proper good-bye ... Fare Thee Well.

The Grateful Dead remaining original members, who got their start fifty years ago, have come together to give five final shows; June 27 & 28 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California and July 3, 4 & 5 at Soldier Field in Chicago, IL.

All of the Fare Thee Well shows will feature original band members, Bob Weir (rhythm guitar, vocals), Phil Lesh (bass, vocals), Bill Kreutzmann (drums) and Mickey Hart (drums) performing two sets of music each night. In Chicago, the band will be joined by Trey Anastasio (guitar), Jeff Chimenti (keyboards) and Bruce Hornsby (piano).

The band has made it clear that they will not be adding any additional Fare Thee Well shows. After the two shows in Santa Clara and the three shows in Chicago, that's it.

In the tradition of the original Grateful Dead Ticketing Service, tickets were made available via a mail order system starting on January 20th; online tickets were made available to the general public on February 28th via Ticketmaster. For more information visit www.Dead50.net.
