Sol Percussion

Sol Percussion, Inc. confirmed an amicable parting of the ways between business partners Akbar Moghaddam and Lane Davy. The company announced that it will continue doing business as Sol Percussion, Inc. for the short term. However, Sol Percussion, Inc. will change its corporate name to Kyperan, Inc.

“We are expanding our strategic relationship with Peruvian manufacturer, A Tempo Percusión, who has been responsible for the design and manufacture of Sol's popular Peruvian models,” said Davy, who continues as company President. “Customers will enjoy improved availability and an expanded mix of high quality, affordably priced instruments, and Kyperan, Inc. will have the opportunity to market the A Tempo brand world-wide.”

"We are working through existing Sol branded inventory and will continue to support Sol products after the sale. However," Davy continued, "we are anxious to move forward with bringing the A Tempo brand to percussionists everywhere."

Sol/Kyperan has discontinued Sol's high-end USA Pro series. Sol/Kyperan also announced the introduction of two new cajon models, the Peruvian Classic and El Tocador with plans for several more models to be introduced at the upcoming Winter NAMM. All previous Peruvian ‘Sol’ models, along with the recently released Peruvian Classic and El Tocador models are now in the Franklin, TN based warehouse stock for the upcoming holiday season.
